America Sold Out

post by Alan Caruba Canada Free Press June 23, 2010

[I want to know since when did Public Service Jobs become power. These people all need to be put in jail. We need to get right of them all, shut our doors, rewrite the Constitution eliminating all the damage that has been done to it, and only allow those who are true Americans to run for office. It's great to debate. It's not great when the debate is about our very liberties and by people who clearly don't want to be free and want to control people through power!]

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has lately taken to saying that the failure to pass the cap and trade act would be immoral. I suggest that the White House and the Democrat congressional leadership and members haven’t a clue when it comes to determining the morality of anything. They are so politically corrupt that they are oblivious to what everyone sees in their behavior. Only such people could pass the health care act in the face of massive opposition by the American people.

Only Speaker Pelosi could actually say that it was okay to pass the bill first and then find out what it contained. This is so utterly contemptuous of the American people that I cannot think offhand of anything comparable. No, wait, the so-called Stimulus Act, more than a thousand pages of pure political pork, was comparable. As this is written, the Associated Press is reporting that “Sales of new homes collapsed in May, sinking 33 percent to the lowest level on record as potential buyers stopped shopping for homes once they could no longer receive government tax credits.” Unemployment officially remains around 9.7%, but the reality is more likely closer to 12% or 14%.

Given the personalities involved, the moral rot in the White House arrived with the puppet and metastasized as he added an entire layer of advisers, quickly dubbed czars, to the official stooges he had selected as the secretaries of various departments. Even to the casual observer, it was obvious that they were mostly academics, people with no experience relative to the nation’s economic realities. Those realities had included a financial crisis that had been set in motion by the government’s increasing intrusion into the home mortgage market. At no time since, however, has there been any notice taken of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac except to seize them in order to staunch some of the financial bleeding.

On Thursday, June 24, the “Disclose Act” (H.R. 5175) is likely to be voted upon despite the fact that it is manifestly unconstitutional on its face. Its purpose is to undo the Supreme Court’s decision in January, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, that made it clear that corporations, unions, and non-profits like the Tea Party groups, free market advocates, and conservative groups are free to use their funds to express themselves in the run-up to the November elections.

It’s called freedom of Speech!—The intent is to saddle groups likely to oppose Democrat Party candidates and issues with so much paperwork that it in effect silences them and them of their First Amendment rights. deprives In the same fashion that votes were bought for the passage of the Health Care Act, groups like the National Rifle Association were offered exemption from the Disclose Act in exchange for not opposing it. Bruce Josten, executive vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, said, “There are 100,000…organizations who as a result of that negotiation have just been tossed overboard and silence.” The Disclose Act is unconstitutional, immoral, and testimony to the corruption of the Capitol Hill Democrat politicians setting the national agenda while selling out Americans in their quest to stay in power.

WSJ Poll: Confidence in Executive Branch Hits Low

post by Peter Wallsten and Eliza Gray The Wall Street Journal June 23, 2010

Americans are more down about their country and the puppet than at any point since the new administration began, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
  • The poll also indicates grave concern about the Gulf oil spill.
  • The great majority of adults want stringent regulation of the oil industry, and worry that the catastrophe will impact the nation’s economy and environment.
  • Sixty-two percent of adults in the survey feel the country is on the wrong track.
  • One-third think the economy will get better over the next year.
  • 57 percent of voters would prefer to elect a new person to Congress than re-elect their local representatives.
  • The results show “a really ugly mood and an unhappy electorate,” said Democratic pollster Peter Hart

Next Big Economic Crisis

post by Dick Morris on TheHill June 22, 2010.

[Post sent to me by Glynn. Listen to what Mr. Morris has to say here. He is right! If WE don't do something fast...I can't even talk about it right now!]

Many say that the situation in Greece is a harbinger of what is coming to the United States. They are right. But first it will come to States like New York, California and Michigan that are stretched way beyond their means and deeply in debt. Until now, the problems in these States have been papered over by federal aid. Essentially, Washington has relieved these States (and the local governments they fund) of their Constitutional obligations to balance their budgets by giving them welfare checks in the nick of time. The puppet now seeks to pass $50 billion in additional welfare to the States. But since these federal funds are not necessarily recurring—and the jobs and obligations they fund are—they simply enlarge each year’s deficit hole and enable the States to go more deeply into the red.

[This seems to much like an entrapment. For one, where are we going to get the money? Two, once the States buy into this, they are owned completely by the federal government. Doesn't seem rational to me.]

As these deficits mount—particularly if a newly elected Republican House and/or Senate refuse to fund them—bondholders will get more and more nervous. Eventually, they will realize that the less solvent States are bankrupt and will refuse to buy their debt. Eyes in Sacramento, Lansing, and Albany will turn helplessly to Washington to guarantee their debt, just as Athens turns to Berlin. Republicans, if they control either or both Houses, should stand firm and insist that these States sink or swim on their own. America’s taxpayers will not take kindly to having to bail out other States—or even their own—to pay for years of reckless spending. Americans will swarm to the GOP and will hail its stand. The time is long past when a local newspaper can generate sympathy—even from its own readers and the State’s own citizens—with a headline like Ford to New York—Drop Dead. Now people in other States (and even in the affected State) would stand up and cheer should the Republicans take so strong a position.

There is currently no legal procedure for a State government to go bankrupt. Congress, especially if it is Republican in 2011, should pass a mechanism that permits States to discharge in bankruptcy their collective bargaining agreements and contracts with municipal unions. Of course, this procedure would have to let school boards and local governments do likewise. The puppet will veto this bill and a stalemate will ensue. On the left will stand the puppet, the unions and the Democrats demanding bailouts for the States and, truly, an end to our federal system of government. Once Washington guarantees State debt and spending, there will be no more State governance, only national rule.

[Told you.]

On the right will stand a Republican Congress refusing to do so unless the States declare bankruptcy and cleanse themselves of the union agreements that got them into trouble in the first place. The GOP will point out that State funding is leaking as surely as the Deepwater Horizon oil well and polluting our nation’s balance sheet as badly in the process. The money will run out. States, school boards and localities will stop sending out checks. Emergency State funding may keep schools open, prisons locked and police and fire services running, but otherwise all hell will break loose. Something will give in this national game of chicken. If it is the States and the puppet that blink first, we will free our local governments of the grip of municipal unions, their rigid work rules and their unaffordable pensions. If the Republicans blink first, they will forfeit their right to represent the American people, having backed down from the challenge of our times. This Armageddon looms in 2011, presenting us with either an opportunity to reform our government in fundamental ways or to set in stone our path to an Athens-esque meltdown.

[Face it. It has already given way. Our crises is beyond repair with the leadership now in place. Too many departments, too many hands in the pot, too many chiefs.]

Puppet Knew: Blagojevich Plot

post by Natasha Korecki and Sarah Ostman on Chicago Sun Times June 24, 2010

Price of Senate appointment of president-elect’s friend—A top aide to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich said he believed the puppet knew of Blagojevich’s plot to win himself a presidential cabinet post in exchange for appointing Valerie Jarrett to the U.S. Senate. John Harris, Blagojevich’s former chief of staff, testified Wednesday in the former governor’s corruption trial that three days after the Nov. 4, 2008  presidential election, the ex-governor told Harris he felt confident the puppet knew he wanted to swap perks.

John Harris, Rod Blagojevich’s ex-chief of staff, said he was convinced the puppet knew of the quid quo pro Blagojevich expected for a Senate nod. “The puppet understands that the governor would be willing to make the appointment of Valerie Jarrett as long as he gets what he’s asked for…The governor gets the cabinet appointment he’s asked for,” Harris said, explaining a recorded call. Harris said Blagojevich came away believing the puppet knew what he wanted after having a conversation with a local union representative, who in turn spoke with labor leader Tom Balanoff, with whom Blagojevich met to discuss a Jarrett appointment. Jarrett, now a White House adviser, was seeking the appointment to the puppet’s Senate seat.

Defense lawyers say Harris’ testimony contradicts the government’s previous public statements that the puppet knew nothing about deal-making involving the Senate seat appointment. The defense on Wednesday moved to force the prosecution to turn over FBI reports of the puppet’s interview with federal agents in December of 2008. The puppet is not accused of wrongdoing. “Testimony elicited by the government from John Harris and wiretaps played in court raise the issue of the puppet’s direct knowledge and communication with emissaries and others regarding the appointment to his Senate seat,” lawyers wrote in the filing. The filing came on the trial’s third day of the extensive playback of recordings in which Blagojevich is heard repeatedly discussing ways to personally capitalize on his Senate seat appointment power. Blagojevich could be heard plotting to try to head up a charity; swearing and snapping at his wife, Patti, and dismissing the possibility of a federal position that pays $190,000 a year. [You can find this article here under this category.] “I make $170…So Fred, that has no appeal to me…I want to make money,” Blagojevich tells national Democratic consultant Fred Yang. “I might as well go out and find a way to make money.”

The puppet’s 2008 internal report about his staff’s contacts with Blagojevich at the time indicates that Balanoff relayed to Jarrett that Blagojevich was interested in a Health and Human Services Cabinet post. Recordings also revealed that Blagojevich had tried to get the Chicago Tribune’s editorial board fired after it ran a series of disparaging write-ups about the then-governor. Harris testified that he ignored Blagojevich’s firing directive. Also Wednesday, U.S. District Judge James Zagel refused to gag the talkative Blagojevich as prosecutors had asked. Zagel said Blagojevich keeps saying he’s innocent, and that anyone who says otherwise is a liar. The repetition, Zagel said, has rendered Blagojevich’s out-of-court talk unnewsworthy.

The Constitution: “In the Year of Our Lord”

post by Gary DeMar on The Patriot Update: A Free Press for the Conservative Revolution , June 25, 2010

[Thanks Gary for your keen observation to history.]

School officials in Connecticut might want to take note of the fact that Constitution includes the phrase, Done…in the Year of our Lord†, a reference to Jesus Christ†. They might want to dismiss this historical fact by claiming that it was the documentary style of the day. How can this be if, as strict separationists claim, our fathers endeavored to retire the gods from politics? Did they forget to retire Jesus from the Constitution? This would have been a perfect time to retire any implication that God† and government intersected at any point. Our Lord† is a certain reference to the Lord Jesus Christ†. The use of in the Year of Our Lord† continued to be used, even through Jefferson’s administration.

In 1807, Jefferson signed a federal passport that allowed the ship Hershel to proceed on its journey to London that was dated September 24, 1807 in the year of our Lord Christ†. Notice the addition of Christ†. Jefferson could have crossed it out. He didn’t. All 50 State Constitutions make reference to God† in different ways—Almighty God† (the most frequent), Creator, Supreme Ruler of the Universe, Supreme Being, Sovereign Ruler of Nations, Legislator of the Universe, Creator and Preserver of the Universe in their preamble. Did all 50 States forget to retire God† from politics?

[The ship's name was actually Herschel.]

Then there are the official documents that called for national days of prayer. On March 16, 1776, by order of Congress a day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer where people of the nation were called on to acknowledge the over ruling providence of God† and bewail their manifold sins and transgressions, and, by a sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease his righteous displeasure, and, through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ†, obtain his pardon and forgiveness.

Congress set aside December 18, 1777 as a day of thanksgiving so the American people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts and consecrate themselves to the service of their divine benefactor and on which they might join the penitent confession of their manifold sins…that it may please God†, through the merits of Jesus Christ†, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of remembrance. Congress also recommended that Americans petition God† “to prosper the means of religion for the promotion and enlargement of that kingdom which consists in righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost†.

Pelosi’s U.S. Citizen-Paid Plane

post by unknown author

[This article appears on blogs continuously dating back to August 2009. It also ran under the title "Discovery Announcement—The densest element in the known Universe has been found!" I couldn't not find an author. Thanks Harold for sending it.]

Pelosium A major research institution has just announced the discovery of the densest element yet known to science. The new element has been named pelosium. Pelosium has one neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 311. These particles are held together by dark forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. The symbol of pelosium is PU. Pelosium‘s mass actually increases over time, as morons randomly interact with various elements in the atmosphere and become assistant deputy neutrons within the pelosium molecule, leading to the formation of isodopes. This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientist to believe that pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass. When catalyzed with money, pelosium activates CNNadnausium, an element that radiates orders of magnitude more energy, albeit as incoherent noise, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons as pelosium. This is the reason this lady has got to be kicked out of  Congress. Tell Everyone! There is strength in People Power.

Let's hope she is ousted in the November 2010 election.

ReminderIn case you’ve forgotten or didn’t already know— This is Queen Pelosi’s new jet!

How do you like this? We paid for this. We should be able to use it, right?

And the Democrats talk about Sarah‘s dresses! Queen Pelosi wasn’t happy with the small USAFC-20B jet, Gulf Stream III that comes with the Speaker’s job. OH NO! Queen Pelosi was aggravated that this little jet had to stop to refuel, so she ordered a Big Fat, 200-seat, USAF C-32, Boeing 757 jet that could get her back to California without stopping! I understand that a former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, flew commercial most of the time. Many, many legislators walked by and grinned with glee as Joe [Hope this is Joe the Plumber.] informed every one of what Queen Nancy’s Big Fat Jet costs us, the hard working American tax payers, literally thousands of gallons of fuel every week. Since she only works 3 days a week, this gas-guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California every Friday and returns every Monday at a cost to the taxpayers (You and me are those taxpayers!) of about $60,000 one way! As Joe put it—”Unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday night and that costs us another $60,000!”

Taxpayers, that is $480,000 per month and that is an annual cost to us of $5,760,000! No wonder she complains about the cost of this war. It might cramp her style and she is styling on my back and yours. I think of the military families in this country doing without and this woman, who heads up the most corrupt Congress in the history of our country, who keeps fueling that jet while doing nothing. Queen Pelosi wants you and me to conserve our carbon footprint. She wants us to buy smaller cars and the puppet wants us to get a bicycle pump and air up our tires. Who do these people think they are? Their motto is—Don’t do as I do—Just do as I say! This is outrageous. Keep in mind the figures above do not include the cost of plane or crewjust the fuel! One has to wonder what the total package costs us? And on top of that—now she wants to tax our IRAs and 401ks!

[They're now trying to do just that!]
